About Amanda Byers

Amanda Byers joins Digestive Health Associates with extensive clinical experience as a certified physician assistant. While her background includes over a decade in orthopedic surgery, she brings valuable clinical skills, patient care expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to our gastroenterology practice.

Education & Training

Amanda earned her Master of Clinical Health Services from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 2011, followed by her Bachelor of Clinical Health Services with a focus on Physician Assistant studies from the same institution in 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder (2005).

Clinical Experience

Amanda has over 17 years of experience as a physician assistant. She has practiced in Durango since 2018, working with Elevate Orthopedics focusing on upper extremity orthopedic surgery, and Spine Colorado specializing in orthopedic spine surgery. Prior to moving to Colorado, she gained extensive experience at OrthoAspen in Aspen, CO, and practiced in Amarillo, TX, where she worked with both adult and pediatric orthopedic spine and scoliosis surgery patients.

Amanda's extensive surgical background has given her exceptional clinical assessment skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of complex medical conditions. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care while ensuring patients feel comfortable and well-informed throughout their treatment.

Amanda has called Durango home since 2018 and is deeply connected to the Southwest Colorado community. Her commitment to local healthcare and understanding of the region's unique needs make her an excellent addition to the Digestive Health Associates team.
